How exactly the education degree is completed depends on the type of school chosen. The education degree commences only in the winter semester.

The education degree "Politics and Society" consists of three different disciplines:
- Political Science
- Sociology
- Contemporary History
Political Science offers modules in three areas: political theory, political systems, and international relations.
Sociology prescribes modules covering the fundamentals of Sociology and social structure analysis. For students of the Unterrichtsfach Gymnasium, modules on sociological theory and quantitative methods are also included.
In the field of Contemporary History, a module on the era of the World Wars and contemporary history after 1945 is prescribed.
